The Board of Directors is appointed by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei for a five year period. The number of members of the board can vary from five to nine.

The Board of Directors is responsible for appointing the Board of Scholars and for deciding how many scholars should be appointed.

The Board of Auditors of Accounts has three members and two substitutes, all named by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.
